Default Electronic Power Control

The little pictureof the engine has come on and the engine (1600cc petrol) is hunting between 600--1500 revs. Any ideas Please.

Sorry Ken, its an octavia ambiante 1600cc petrol (2001). As i write this the light has gone out again and the car is running OK, but i would still like to know

it should have logged a fault, once again, VAGCOM will reveal all
