Default Fabia Hi-Level brake light

Was driving behind an 02 reg fabia last nite (1.4 i think - it was dark) and i noticed that when his lights were on, the two end LED's on the hi-level brake light were on (both ends) Is this a fault or did some come like that?

Just curious really

I think thats a fault! I was behind an Audi A4 earlier and its brake light was permanently on but it was just dim...it looked kind of cool but was obviously a fault

Mine can't be seen at all now due to the tint. Oh well.

But it sounds like a fault in this case, unless he'd wired it up to do a knight rider style strobe thing.

I followed a T reg Golf this morning with exactly the same thing, two LED's at either end of the 3rd brake light were lit all the time.

I thought it looked quite cool

yea does look pretty cool, and at least i defo saw him too. It seemed like a very good fault to have because it wasnt going dim or anything, just seemed to work pretty well, and the rest of the 3rd light came on when he braked so it was still working. Have seen a knight rider stylee on a New nova (i mean corsa) and it was well annoying.

I was following a Peugeout 206 the other day and the owner had replaced the standard rear clusters with Lexus-style ones. Odd thing was they didn't look like they'd wired them in at all!!!!!

So when a rear bulb dies, that happens? Both rear lights were on too, and brake lights worked.

My upper brake light went a few months back. As it is a 'sealed' unit it is replaceable under guarantee. My dealer originally ordered in the wrong unit, so they took one out of a showroom Fabia, just to check the part number. The problem is that the trim round the light is very stiff and brittle. It needs to be heaved off. The assistant busted the trim on the showroom model. Haven't seen him working there since ...
