| Hello all, Well - my Fabia is just dandy at the moment, which moves me onto my brother's Favorit Mk II Hatch. Two problems: 1. Heated rear window doesn't work (switches on, you hear the relay click, but no demisting action occurs). 2. Fuel gauge goes straight up to above max as soon as you turn on ignition even when tank is almost empty (this occured after we took the dashboard instrument panel out to fix the rev counter - whoops! Bruz has tried to test the fuel gauge sender by removing the various cables one in turn but it keeps giving the above max reading). Any suggestion on either of these are very welcome. Thanks, D. |

| Quite likely the heated window has detached on the rear window...it is soldered on on both sides and is easy to knock off. The fuel gauge works by the positive wire always being connected to the gauge and the wire to the tank being there to connect it to negative if the fuel tank is full, and so on. So, quite likely you have inadvertently connected this to the bodywork somehow...hence your problem...trapped wire which split and touching bodywork maybe? Interesting on my favorit the rev counter isn't working...what was the problem with yours and how did you fix it?? |
