Default Ferodo suppliers

I just got of the phone to Kevin from Sejoc and they don't do Ferodo's?!?! Just EBC he told me. Then he recommended I contact some company near Silverstone/Towster of which he had no phone number and I didn't quite catch the name of.

So I guess its DT only now who supplies the DS2500s?

01914 103 770 - Alyn. Be aware, however, that Geoff is still waiting for his fronts - there is a shortage, aparrently. Guess who's to blame?

Just had Alyn (or his partner) phone me back with quotes:

£121.53 for fronts
£66.25 for rears
and £12.50/500ml for fluid (Silikone iirc).

Delivery 7-10 days as they can't get them in stock...

Still waiting for Chris Green to email me with his quote.

Q,

I got aquote off Chris@DT for the DS2500 but I can't remember if it was a GB price of a one off buy...£98 + p&p.

Do a search of brake pads group buy....I did a quick scan of the GB section and can't find it.

Remember to say your from Briskoda and you'll get a 10% discount.

Wow @ the prices Alyn quoted you.....paid £149 for front and rear in the GB from him.

Remeber for the fluid you'll need perhaps 2 litres......Halfords do the Castrol Response Super dot4.1 .........not sure how it compares with the Pro Race 2000 but it's £9/litre.

Si,

did you change the fluid and if so which did you use.

Cheers.
Adrian.

The short answer is Slikolene Pro Race 2000, the long answer will have to wait for a PM - the DNS servers work use are not updated, and things are a bit flakey at the mo.

And here's Chris with prices:

Quote:
DS2500 Front Pads = £98.44 inc vat
DS2500 Rear Pads = £53.66 inc vat
Castrol SRF Dot 4 Brake Fluid = £8.04 per litre inc vat
Delivery = £9.11 inc vat.

We are currently out of stock of the rear pads and the brake fluid so the order could take about 10-14 days to get to you.
Guess where I will be placing an order...

Make sure that the fluid is not silicon based (I think that's correct) as it absorbs lots of moisture which will lead to fade, I think.

HAHAHAHAHAHA What?

7-10 weeks would seem to be more accurate.

Alyn must be sick of me calling him, Ferodo need to pull their fingers out !!!

My little tip for you:

When ordering from DT, if they don't have them in stock, ask for them to be sent direct from the supplier

Usually arrive within 2-3 days

I had read that advice before, but it didn't stick. Fortunately I'm not in a hurry on the pads as the old ones still have plenty left, so I don't really mind waiting for it... in fact, it will be less suspicious towards SWMBO as well

And what did the postie surprise my darling other half with this morning? New brakes, with plenty of time to get them bedded in for the trackday

Now if I could only get that ABD TIP as well...

So are you going to have a go at fitting them yourself?

I got a link which gives step by step instructions.
You can borrow the winding tool if you like......once Nick's finished with it.

p.s if you decide to do it yourself can I come and watch and take pics?

What do you think?!?!? I didn't even fit the DV myself, let alone know how to get the wheels off

Besides, the brake fluid is going to be replaced at the same time so I'll leave it to the professionals.
