HELP funny noise started

Hi there again, need some help on my octy vrs, it makes a squiking sound like a bird in the morning, the sound changes with engine revs and can last upto anywere from 30secs to 3 mins.... At first i throught it was that the alternator belt had got damp but it is still doing it ( about a week now ). I noiticed that it only happens if i leave it for more than 5hrs, but am worried it could be somthing major. ( dont do it when luke warm or warm at all) and there is no loss of perforamce or any lights on the dash.

Other than the petrol light saying fill me up again

I noticed a similar noise for the first time this week. My old Focus used to sound exactly the same, summer or winter, for about a year before I got rid of it. Didn't seem to cause any problems, I suspect it is alternator related
