Default Help please!!!

Just fitted my Forge DV to my VRS and all seemed to be fine, first 3 miles, spot on. Then it went all ropey, engine management light flashed and there is just no power. The light went off but i dont feel any turbo boost at all, there are no leaks form the pipework, what could it be? Please don't say its blown something???

No boost....you sure you put it on the right way and that the connections are tight?

Also it may be that you unlucky and the piston has stuck open.....got VAG COM to read off the error code?

Got a camera? If so can you post a pic of the DV "as fitted".

Assuming you've got the correct DV, refiitted all the pipes correctly and tightened all the jubilee clips properly then it's a straight swap usually.

Mine certainly was..

Depending on the fault limp home is normally corrected by turning off the ignition and restarting.

Sounds like a boost leak.

Nothing much else to add other than:

Did you remove the electrical connector off the N75? If so, have you plugged it back in?

Remove the top of the DV and examine the spring ensuring that the internals are greased.

Once it's in limp mode changing the DV is not going to clear the error code.

I think if you disconnect the battery for 20 minutes the error code should be cleared....I'm sure some one ill confirm either way.

If its an overboost fault and goes into limp home then turning the ignition off and on again will reset the system, but it wont clear the code.

I think something else has gone on here, you didnt use and sprays on the pipes when fitting the valve did you? i.e WD40.

Thats just a protective cover, the connections are secure in the part in front of that.

Try disconnecting the MAF sensor and giving it a quick run.

On the air pipe from the air filter to the turbo, next to the airbox, flat five pin connector.

The idea of disconnecting it is that when its open circuit the ECU see's a default value. If the sensor is faulty (very common) it may well be sending duff info to the ECU. It wont run perfectly but it will change the problem.

I think that's a good sign as if it ran ok that would mean it was using the last reading the MAF had i.e. your MAFs no knackered.....I think.

You really need to get a VAGCOM hooked up.

I don't think you need a professional to fit 3 jubilee clips! I cant have fitted it wrong. Just dont have a clue what could have happened.

If the N75 valve was faulty, what sort of symtoms would it give? That is really the only thing which i think could have been touched, all pipes and leads are sound with no leaks. Why doesn't anything show on the dash if there is still a fault? If something was seriously wrong wouldn't the EM light still show?

Well its been in to the workshop and they have just said it is the MAF that is showing the fault, it can't have been anything to do with the DV then as i never went near the MAF at all. Thet are fitting a new one tomorrow so we'll see if it cures it
