| For the last 10 months the door grip on my vRS drivers door has been annoying me. It all started when I went back to complain about a rattle in the door which turned out to be a cable attached to the door lock. The dealer took apart the door trim, inserted some foam and the problem went away. However every time I open the drivers door the door grip sort of flexes downwards as I open the door and makes a sort of plastic creaking noise. Have been back 4 times to the dealer and he has reseated the door handle into the door trim each time, only for the problem to come back. The dealer says that handle is not screwed into the door really but rather just clips into the door and possibly taking it out the first day loosened up the clips a bit. The funny thing is that this irriating flexing only happens when the temp. is over 15 degrees. I always thought plastic flexed at lower temp's, not higher. Hardly a serious problem but annoying all the same. I am bringing it in again next week and if he can't sort it, he will order a new door handle. Any thoughts ? Maybe I am being too fussy. |

| Sorry to here of your creeking door handle , We had a problem with all of ours. When we first ordered the vRS we asked the dealer to get the windows blacked out, which he did and we were very happy when we picked the car up. Then the following day it all went wrong...... The drivers side rear window droped open about 4 inches and we couldn't close it. Took it back to the dealer and left it with him for a couple of days (as it was a saturday afternoon). We got the car back and problem solved. Apparently the peoplr who done the windows had taken the door trims off to get the windows out to tint them(as you would expect) but the Octavia's door trims are of a ONE FIT only type because of the plastic clips. Our Dealer was very good and replaced all the door handles with new ones. Which it would seem that your dealer should of done the same. So basicly the door handles once removed to take door trims off need to be replaced with new. Sorry to be long winded about it, but now you know the full story. Hope all goes well with your dealer later this week.

| Just on to the dealer. He said he would replace the door grip if neccessary, but last time he tightened it up the clips he said were perfect. Apparently the grip on the drivers side just clips into the door frame. Anyway I have it booked in for next Wed. He said he would have another go first. He also needs to look at the central locking pin as that has got noisy, and I have a problem with noise from the back window - possibly the plastic surround for the rear centre brakelight is vibrating against the window. |
