Default Old Dragon boxes

Hi.

There are some Dragon boxes for sale on the net that are made for 1998-2006 1.9PD TDI 100-150HK engines. Are there any changes on the Dragon box or the 1.9TDI PD after 2006?
Will it work on a 2008 1.9PD 105HK TDI w/DPF?

One of these?

<30% MORE DIGITAL DIESEL BHP 1,9 PD 100-150BHP VAG CARS on eBay, also Chips, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 17-Apr-08 14:46:18 BST)

Yes it will and quite well although I have no idea what the extra clag produced will do to the DPF.

I thought I better ask Dragon about this and this was their reply "No i'm sorry the later engines with the edc17's and some edc16 ecu's will need the newer systems".
The ECU on the 1.9TDI changed in 2007, and the Dragon boxes made for engines before 2007 does not work properly on newer cars.

The dragon boxes work nothing like the cheap resistor type units.

Quote:
these units always have 5 wire plugs (see photo) on the 1,9's which screw on to the end of the cylinder head. They intercept the injector signals and modify them according to the specific engines requirements - they have PIC micro processors (small computers) onboard and are very complex to program on the PD engine. The unit is big and ugly compared the neat little £30 job as it has a proper circuit board with hundreds of parts on it (not just one resistor) and needs connecting to the car battery and needs some setting up to get the power level set to your taste. But from selling these and similar digi PD boxes since the late 90's we know it's not going to damage the engine or cause unnecessary pollution. The car will have properly proportioned performance from 1600-4500rpm. There's 7 customer selectable power level settings adjusted by jumper pins in the unit.
