Rattling Exhaust

When you close the rear near side door there is a rattling coming from underneath the car. Someone has told me that it sounds like the baffles inside the exhaust are loose/broken. Does this sound about right? Do I need to replace the offending part or is it okay as it is for now? The car is 2 years old, should I need to replace the offending part this soon or is it about right? Sorry about the seemingly stupid questions as I'm not mechanically minded at all

If I do need to replace it what suggestions do you have?

Thanks
Shaun

could well be.. have your local exhaust place check the box first as it could be a heat shield.

Spooky how these problems seem to start at the same time - are the gremlins using the Briskoda site to spread ?

I noticed this from mine, but I felt that it was coming from the area under the fuel cap. I did take the wheel arch liner off one day and it sounded like it was coming from the pipe for the fuel, is there a float of some decription in it which was rattling or hitting off the side of the fuel pipe when the door was being closed.

Other thing to check is the exhaust centre mounts, about in line with the door pillar between front and reaer doors. I went through 9 of them in the course of 136k miles

Funny that! I'm picking up some new centre mounts on Tuesday - wander if its a weakness?
