Default Rear Arches

my Octy has seemed to have picked up a lot of stone chips around the bottom leading edge of the rear arches.

I was wondering whether I can get any of that coloured code plastic layer that some cars have in the same arch area....I know my wife's Yaris has some and Golfs have it to.

Any ideas?

<thinkingtomyselfmode>
may be I can blag some off Dave W....surely he can get some.
</thinktomyself mode>

Cheers.
Adrian.

p.s I've already fitted front mudflaps.

Hmmm I seam to recall a recent case of receiving 4 or 5 LHD versiions - quite large may be able to adapt -- not sure if have been sent back.....will check tomorrow and let you know

Oh and yeah it's clear and (a) A Bugger to fit cleanly (b) A bugger to trim without screwing it up & (c) A good idea

Cheers Dave.

the idea was to give protection but also to cover up the existing chips...wonder if I can colour code them? I suppose it's possible as long as I use the right primer to kepp it flexible.

Cheers.
Adrian.

p.s heard anything from Chris about brakes? I've just gone for the front pads.

Adrian,

How about just applying some touch-up paint before applying the protectors, n'est pas?

Or am I missing something really obvious????

Howard,

Cheers.

Wouldn't have though it would make much difference if you're going to slap a bit of clear plastic on the top??

Adrian

I think Howard is right -- the type of plastic used would be a nightmare to try & paint -- plus you have to heat it up to apply it correctly,so I don't think it would look good with melted paint on

I've gone for the Group N Discs & The Ferodo Pads -- end of the month for the discs I think

I was supposed to be going to the national, but my weekend cover did his back in -- and after speaking to him today - doesnt look like he'll be back in time

But glad to hear your good news

...was kind of thinking that myself.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Pity about meet..sounds like it's going to be a blast! The southern min-meet was fun so I can only imagine what the national is going to be like........

The disks price is good.....would have been tempted but with the baby on the way my modding is going to be striclty limited from now on. Pads will do for now and I'll get the fluid done at the 40k service.

Hear there's plan for a track day with us novices in mind, probably spring next year, so pads and fluid would be good with that in mind.

Thanks again for the kind words.

Cheers.

What about going down the road of the Focus RS, and getting what looks like a heavy duty colour coded sticker put on the part thats getting damaged. You could could it into a shape which makes it look like its supposed to be there. I tried looking for a picture on the net but they seem to have removed it for the pictures.

Gaff,

I think what you're talking about is what I have originally asked about.

Dave,

did you have any of those clear arch protector stickers left?

Cheers.

I'm losing the plot on this one. LHD cars have different wheel arches?
