| Someone with a computer plugs it upto your car, and rewrites / flashes your ECU (brain of the car) to add more fuel etc etc, inreasing torque and bhp. Only really worthwhile on turbo'd car's

| wicked thanks guys i guess you have to tell your insurance company that you have done this? what if you played ignorant and when i buy a 2nd hand car say that i ddnt know that it had been done by the previous owners. i will be getting a 1.9 tdi vrs so that looks like it will have the most gain from a re map?

1) its illegal not to tell them 2) insurance companies will look for any reason not to pay out,and ignorace is no defence as far as insurance or the police are concerned. Be careful which insurance company you go with, ask if they accept remaps BEFORE you part with any money to them, as some companies will not accept any mods & some will charge you silly money on top of your premium.

| Very sound advice. NU Direct would not allow any engine performance mods on my wife's Fabia, but were OK about a Jabba rear ARB.
