Default Shorter throw gearchange for 4x4?

I know a cheap upgrade for the 5 speed FWD 1.8T's is to fit the Audi TT 180 FWD selector arm (P/N 8NO711051A) which is under £20. I just wondered if anyone has tried the 4WD 180 TT item on a 4x4 or if anyone knows if it's shorther than the 4x4.

I've been known to complain about the long-throw gearchange when I first got the 4x4 (I'm using the vRS leather gear level with 4x4 logo), but I've got used to it now.

Wouldn't a TT gearknob look out of place in a 4x4?

You don't change the gear knob, just the selector arm which is located under the airbox.

I know it's been a while since I've posted, but my A3 Quattro has the TT part installed and it shortened the front to back throw nicely, Since adding the B&M Lever it's been even better

Eddy, you would have to get one off a 5 speed Quattro TT, which are the early ones.

I've got a couple of six speed ones kicking about somewhere from fitting Neuspeed ones in the past, but im pretty sure its different to the five speed.

That's what I was thinking Ross. I'll have a look on Etka when I can get on a PC with a suitable screen.

how much does the b&m part cost and can you only get it in plain metal?? i don't think i'd want it like that, leather covered would be nicer
