I'm sure it's 205/40 17 but you would need to check out to be positive.

| And neither touches the arches etc or rubs at all? And is it safe to put on narrower tyres onto wheels that were meant to take 225's on the octy? |

| 205/40 17 has the same running radius as the Fabia vRS oe which is 205/45 16. It should be no problem............... |

| So with regards the speedo over/under reading it should be ok? And also with fitting narrower tyres to a rim that should have wider tyre - that ok? |

I'm sure the octy spiders were 205 width oe any how, but double check to be safe. Speedo readings should be the same.

| I've found that 215/40/17 makes your speedo almost bang on with GPS up to treble figures, which is a bonus of the bigger wheels/tyres

| The standard fitment on the Octy vRS with 17s was a 205. Lots of people fit 225/40s on Octys because the wider and lower tyres are cheaper. |

225/45 is the right size for those who want more grip, since that's excactly the same radius as the stock 205/55R16 the Octy vRS came with. The stock 17" tires are slightly bigger.

Running this combo means when my speedo reads 100, I'm actually doing about 97, which is an acceptable difference, especially when most of the time I'm not doing 100mph. ![]()
