| IIRC deisels can go to 30K or so? Watch the dash when you start up, it'll tell you when it needs to go in ![]() |

Jon, does yours have a service indicator or a white flag that pops up out of the dashboard? ![]() | |

| White flag ![]() I think it's because it rarerly gets driven hard that it just decides it wants to go in and get thrashed by a mechanic ![]()

| Why did my first service pop up at 17,500? I assumed that was normal-ish but now I'm thinking its a bit low |

| Petrol or diesel? However thats why it is variable, it all depends on how the car is driven.

| So 16k would indicate that it's had a fairly hard life then? ![]()

![]() Variable servicing Petrol - min 9,300 miles...max 20,000 miles. Diesel - min 9,300 miles...max 30,000 miles. However the max diesel mileage has now been dropped to 20k also on new models.

| I didn't know that there is a minimum mileage for variable servicing, Ross. And doesn't the V6 diesel have a 24,000 mile max service interval?

| I think it could be 22,000 for the V6, was on Audi but not 100% on the Skoda. They are the tolerances if you like, light can come on anywhere between those set parameters, they are what we program into the dash at PDi and service.

| On our 110 Tdi services were at 28000 & 57000, guess next one about 84000, car does a lot of long runs so guess that helps Stuart

| My first was at 31k (!) and now just turned 50k and still no service indicator - I'm doing slightly shorter runs now, so I suspect it might pop up a little earlier next time. However, it also looks like I'll be making an unscheduled stop sooner for a new clutch ![]()

To be on the safe side I'd check my oil level as I'm not sure what's the indications are between model specs.
