Default Anyone off to BTCC at Thruxton?

As the header says, anyone going on Sunday the 18th?

Call me a spawny git, but I got two free tickets courtesy of Wave 105, so I'll be going there, whereas I normally wouldnt if I had to pay.

You are indeed a git.

I shall be there and paying full price

Unless it's raining when I shall be watching it on TV

It's well worth it though - a full day of motorsport and there's usually a few other things going on as well.

Last year they had an army helicopter doing stunts including looping the loop which was bloody impressive.

Like I say , I shall be there unless the weather is pants.

Donington last weekend was great fun

I'll be there even if it is raining, Saturday consists on lying in a hedge in a ghillie suit shooting at people, so its a bit of an oitdoor weekend for me, besides the tickets are free, my favourite price!!!

OMG Just finished watching this meet and

Tom Onslow-Cole is ace winning twice.
Sheddon was unlucky getting a puncture twice
Giovanardi was extremly unlucky on that last lap of race 2

But the young one in the Integra drove excellently until his car broke.

Now thats racing at its' bst!!!
Good to see Matt Jackson on the charge too.

It was very tense watching the last race - huge amounts of specators seemed to be willing Andrew Jordan on until his puncture.

I'll be watching the recorded races tomorrow to see what I missed out on on the other side of teh track

Fantastic racing from Andy Jordan, especially the recovery from Giovanardi's tap at Club. A massive shame he had to retire

Great racing though, loved Plato's charge through the field in the second race and congratulations to Onslow-Cole winning twice

Why was Jason Plato stripped of third place from the first race?
How low was the Leon? and he still had to carry the ballast!!

Do the cars have a spot built for the success ballast? or do they just shove the ballast in where they feel like it?

They can put the success ballast where they want which is handy as they can get the weight balance closer to the ideal

Plato's car failed the minimum ride hight requirements "by about 2mm, caused by crash damage" [Plato] but the stewards didn't see it that way.

All things being fair though, at least Giovanardi didn't walk away with maximum points for the second race which keeps things interesting in the drivers points.

D'oh!
Like a muppet I forgot to record the race yesterday.
I know there's highlights later today , but does anyone know if the full show is repeated or if there's a torrent anywhere so I can download it?

I think only the highlights are repeated on Men and Motors later on this week.
Have you tried the ITV website? It may be on their 'catch up' service.

Just to rub it in even more troops, the free tickets I got from Wave were paddock access too, at £8 each extra!!!

Some good racing, terrible exit arrangements though.

met a lad in a red furby classic with the v badge on his grille trying to go the opposite way against a 2 mile queue, let him turn round.

Saw a silver furby rs with shiny alloys, anyone on here?

If so, has the wind burn gone yet, mine hasnt!

I saw lots of Skodas there , but no briskoda stickers on any of them.

As for getting out at the end..... as Plato crossed the line we were packed up and heading for the exit. We went outside the fence at the earliest opportunity and scuttled back to the car as quickly as possible. We got in , started the engine and nipped across to the field just in time to get onto the single track road with no queueing - out onto the roads about 5 minutes after setting off
