Default Formula Ford

Just wondering if anyone else on the board is into Formula Ford, had PM's from Old Blue JMK2/Vikki about the links in my sig already.

I am invovled in running a FF team in the UK championship and its great fun. It all kicks off again on easter monday @ Oulton. We race along site British GT and F3 so there is plenty to see and do....

If you are there and wandering about the paddock you can miss us...

cheers,

is a tense time... with it being 2 new cars this season - of which only 1 is half built it is turning into a rush... but the 1st chassis which Comtec have built up has just broken the FF Duratec lap records at Snett and Oulton so we are itching to get our cars out there......

Good luck with it all Paul.

What are the regs for FF engine wise - is there a choice of engines you can use or just a choice of fettlers for a control type engine?

Any good tips for ticket blagging? I've had a few good days out at OP. Brisky mini-meet on Easter Monday?

Andy, drop VikkiVRS a PM as she regularly marshalls at OP and may have some contacts.

I had a nose around some Formula Fords at a race meeting at Kirkistown and was amazed how back-to-basics they were. Also wasn't lucky enough to have a go in one at the time, but maybe one day

Just found some pics from last time I went - although no Formula Ford unfortunately. Has it been brought in to replace the Caterhams?

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/gener...k-today/52038/

Anyway, as Paul says, its a good day out

Having a look at the regs, http://www.britishformulaford.co.uk/downloads/2008_BFFC_Duratec_1600_Regulations.pdf This is the mk2 focus 1.6 engine isn't it?

Quote:
5.2 Permitted Engine
5.2.1 The only permitted base engine is the Ford 1600cc, 16
Valve Duratec engine in its 100PS Non-VCT (Focus &
Fiesta) form (code FYJA or FYJB) with nominal bore 79.0mm
and stroke 81.4mm, fitted with the components in the

mandatory engine performance kit.
Is the power output still the standard 100hp?
