Default Jack Frost Rally Croft this weekend, Octavia WRC

Just to let you all know that there is a Skoda Octavia World Rally Car running at this weekends Jack Frost Rally tomorrow. Its at Croft Race Circuit near Darlington.

It should be a good rally with lots of top crews entered.

Under steer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and over steer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you

Shame you didn't make it as it was a half decent weather(very strange for Croft) the Octavia went fairly well but I think that they are still getting used to it, 4th over all so not too shabby.

No never got a chance to get a look whilst it was in service. I think once they get used to it then it should be a winner.

Lee Tindall, the driver of the Octavia is normally the co-driver but he has driven on a few events previous to this but not in the Octavia, he went very well all day, and 4th overall was a damn good result, once i've sorted through all my photos i'll post a few up here.

No. 36 a wee pug 205, we were next to Bogies 6R4 in the service area.
What a day that was

We had forgotten most of the spares, the service car then decided to lock itself with the keys still inside it. Then had to remove a rear window to get into the little amount of tools and spares we had, Oh and when it came in for its first service the timing belt was slashed and on its way out, how it never broke I don't know.
After running about service looking for a timing belt we then managed to change it in 20mins even with a siezed alternator bracket. By this time the heavens had opened and there was still no window in the service vehicle so that had to be put in before the car was flooded !

Apart from that it was great

It was the first event for a friend of mine as a driver and also the first event for the car (car 89 Colin Stockhill) lucky he only needed wheels changing and fluid's checking all day so we got to spectate and photgraph most of the day having said that I don't think that I have ever been so wet.
