Lance
No it was Angelo Nieto!

Lorenzo was rider of the day though!

Na, think Colin deserves that accolade, a very competative third on a satalite machine

Lance, I salute your attitude. Nice to see your post

Was Angel Nieto who rode Rossi's bike on the cool down lap.
Rossi now equals Nieto's record of 90 wins in MotoGP.

Love watching Rossi when he's on form like that!!
No one could compete with him today.
You all know my feelings regarding Stoner, i knew we'd see him struggle now that he has to race for a living
That'll be him refusing to do interviews again!!
Did you see how much faster the Honda and Ducati were than everything else down the straight??
I wonder if anyone can beat Rossi next at Mugello?? He's never been beating there on a Moto GP bike

That would be 3 in a row then, wouldn't it. Not too shabby for an aledged "has-been"!

Only people I noticed making excuses for anything were Ducati people claiming Stoner had tyre problems.

Rossi is going to be very difficult to beat on home ground, especially considering his record at Mugello.........Lorenzo may give him a run for his money, as he'll be a lot better by then

Rossi was in a league of his own at Le Mans (that hurts), no matter how biased anyone is (me) you couldn't deny his performance on sunday.

Seriously, I hated seeing Nicky "the accountant" Hayden win the championship despite both Vale and Danni winning more races; I'd no big issues with Stoner winning same from the front (other than him being so lacking in charisma).
I don't "make excuses" though; Michelin said that they underperformed on the tyre front last year.

Yep. I've never been shy at admitting how talented Rossi is, nor at aknowledging when he wins.

It's some of the Rossi-ites who can't admit whe he gets beaten fair and square, usually adding numerous excuses.........if the cap fits, wear it.......if it doesn't then don't.

Just seen the race this morning, great result from Yamaha. Rossi pulled a fare gap to the others, and Dani wasn't hanging about.

Another great bit of Antics from Vale, with Angelo Nieto. Was that a Replica Robert Dunlops Helmet that Nieto was wearing. You have to hand it to the guys for the thoughts .

I see what you mean now. That said, other than the Vale 90 scripting, Angel's leathers look a lot like Joey's to me.

The comentators on Eurosport said it was one of Robert Dunlops helmets, I took it to mean a genuine one, not a copy or replica.

He has always paid tribute to people (remember when Colin McRae was killed)
It will be interesting to see what he does if he gets to Agustini's record.

Yea the Eurosport guys mentioned in, but seemed a little unsure. I suppose its hard to commentate on something off the cuff when Rossi pulls those stunts. Just goes to show why kinda Anoraks those boys are to know their stuff.

Must say it was a nice touch by Rossi alright.

I always figured that all helmets looking like the original were replicas. I doubt they'd a Genuine one knocking around, but ya never know

Lance - I know you hate Rossi but I'm not clear on why? I can only imagine it's like the Schumacher thing, except I'd imagine you loved the Teutonic **** as everyone else hated him?

As for Rossi's 'scripting' when he wins - I like the way he backs himself enough to bother organising stuff....the skittles last year was class.

One of the guys reakons the helmet was actually the one that Angelo Nieto used when racing, and that it was Robert Dunlop that copied him using the same one.

That's possible, but I'm not familiar enough with Robert's career to know if it's correct or not.

Looks like it is Nieto's lid design.

Nieto on a Derbi in the late 60's.

Poor quality photo, but you can just make out the black stripes.
