| Why not join a motorclub, go on a marshals training course, get an MSA marshals licence and marshal on the event and not have to pay to stand in a spectator pen. Other way of doing it is to go on a trip to one of the other european rounds as they're much more fun than rally south wales.

| Sorry forgot I asked this Thanks for replying ![]() I'm not too sure I have the time to get any more involved in Motor Sport other then a spectator, is it something you do? It will be my first WRC so I don't really want too travel outside the UK just yet! Thanks Andy |

Marshalling takes no longer than spectating. Normally have to sign on 6ish in the morning for an early stage and you're right in the action. I started of marshalling, became chief marshal of my motor club then took up competing.

| I went to Rally "GB" about 3 years ago and we ended up booking a couple of months ahead of time into the Travel Inn at Caerphilly which was pretty well located to get to all the stages. My impressions of the rally were that it was quite expensive (you paid for the stages you wanted to attend) and the spectator areas were on the whole pretty restricted and you were penned in. However, the spots did seem to be pretty good and as long as you got there early, you were guaranteed a good view. Last year I went to the WRC Ireland and it was completely different - all the stages bar the Super Special were free and you could spectate where you wanted along them, provided you weren't on private land without permission. Just a shame they picked November to hold it in ![]() Chris
