Apparently the best night to go is the last nite of the illuminations (sunday 4th Nov) as there is a big fire work display .

4th of Nov should be ok for me too, but Ill have to do some begging with SWMBO
Question is.....Where do I park?

The only times I used to go to Blackpool which used to be every year, was in a coach full of friends & family that we borrowed off Arriva

Best one to park in is the mulit-story one underneath the police station on Bonney Street / Chapel Street (right behind sealife centre) police in & out all the time , cctv & undercover , two minute walk to the sea front too .

Yep it is a very good run , A66 should be ready to open up fully soon , they have been making it dual for a while now , last time i used it few weeks back it was all new tarmac & lines painted on it , be a lot better when it opens up fully . Often have a run up to Penrith market on a saturday or over to Keswick / Kendal , better still the pizza shop in Appleby In Westmoreland , the two lasses who own/run it are from Darlington , still dont sell parmos yet tho .

I went over the 66 last Sunday, it was in a similar state - finished but still coned off. They're probably just waiting for a batch of gatso's!

I use that stretch of road quite a bit (Scotch Corner to Penrith) , you sometimes see the odd camera van but now i think the police will be s**t hot when it opens up fully .

Hopefully we,ll get a few to drive over to Blackpool end of the month

Give the A66/M6 some stick
