Talking North East Meet - Part IV

Guys,

Any North Easterners fancy meeting up sometime? Dunno a venue or place / time as yet put post your name and we'll get something sorted. Would also be a useful exercise to get an idea of numbers in the region.

All welcome though.

1. Jimmy

Geoff, First exercise is to get an idea of numbers. Then we'll agree date / time / venue etc. I'll consider you added to the list

Well if we get decent numbers give me a shout of you want a co-driver for a scouting run.

I have an idea or 2 from previous efforts.

Geoff, I totally agree. This time we need a good turnout to make it worthwhile.

Tell you what, I'll pick you up one Sat / Sun morning and we'll do a recce. I'll bring the Pug and you can have a go. Bring an AA card though

Excuse the ignorance, but being a total n00b on Briskoda, and having only had my furby vRS for a little over two days, I wondered what happens at a 'meet'.

I'm up here in the NE, so I thought I'd ask first

Cheers!

Nice to see a couple of "newbies " (orrible word) jumping in

General plan for a regional meet is thus.

We all meet at a location to be decided...which is kept off the board for reasons that will become obvious..

Hand-shaking session ensues, those of us who know each other proceed to hurl insults and abuse at each other in a pathetic attempt to make everyone feel at home

Then the real fun begins...

A "spirited" drive across some of the North East or North Yorkshire's finest twisty roads, all done with printed notes so you can drive at your own pace, or indeed attempt to keep up with the modded loonies in whatever Skoda they own :drive:

At some point (halfway-ish) we shall stop at a pre-arranged Eatery-come-drinking establishment for (soft) drinks & grub, where more insults will be thrown. By this time the newer members will feel at home, and will be expected to join in

When we're all full of (soft) drink and pub grub, we will move on to the second part of the drive, consisting of more twisties, avoiding plod and his cameras, and also the lunatic biking minority that infests such roads

At the end of the meet, it's possible that another pub stop will be made, or if time is marching on, we'll stop for a bit of a natter, then make our merry way home...or we'll all stand staring at Panrix's RS cos he's ripped another sump off...

At some point in the day, i'll tear off ahead to a pre-scouted spot and get the camera out, and make a feeble attempt to get a few pics of each car, using my rather dubious photographic "skills"....anyone attending is welcome to hi-res pics of the day if they want them.

Come along, i don't think anyone has ever called a Briskoda meet boring yet...

To whom it may concern.

If you feel the need to mis-quote, feel free. But do not edit my original posts to do it.

Thankyou.

Liar.

A small request, as we seem to be getting a slightly better response this time.

Can you all add were you live (general area will do) so we can try and plan a route that's suitable for as many as possible.
