As people are saying how bad the Snake Pass (A57) Glossop to Sheffield Road is, how about a bit of a meet, to compair how bad that road is and come back via Woohead (A628) and then stopping back in Glossop again for a bit of dinner??? Just a feeler at the minute, but who would be up for it??? If people are up for a bit of a meet, some nice driving with lovely Scenery and some food, I will try to get some routes planned, and somewhere to start/finish at, and somewhere to eat!!! Chris

I used to be Events Organiser for the West Yorks Impreza Owners Club, and we had many runs along Snake and Woodhead. If I may suggest, as you climb up from Ladybower towards Sheffield, before you get to Rivelin, turn left onto Strines Moor. 12-13 miles of challenging road, not for the faint hearted if driven in anger, especially if the weather's bad as it so often is there. It joins Woodhead at Langsett Reservoir completing your loop. I'd come along, but I w*rk 7 days a week right now, which is why I stood down from the organisational duties at the WYIOC. That and the fact I sold the Scoob and couldn't bear to see everyone else having all the fun. As for food, The Snake Pass Inn is excellent, especially the lamb IIRC. Ladybower Inn also has good food. Have fun.

If anyone goes along the Strines road that has a low Fabia, be very careful. Mine bottoms out A LOT along that road (glad I've got the sump guard, put it that way!). Fun bit of road though ![]()
