| Recently traded in my 52 Octy TDi Estate for a 53 1.8T Elegance Estate. Well after 2 weeks I can say that the extra ooomph factor has won me over. I was initially concerned about fuel economy, but the sheer pleasure of driving with a beast underfoot has balanced out cost in my mind. And fuel economy isnt that bad if driven carefully. Anyoune else got a 1.8T 20vElegance and got any tips etc. Ta in advance. |

| We have one. Just rolled over 100,000 miles and has been almost faultless. The biggest improvement was a trip to Jabba for a custom remap within 3 months of having it. For around £500 it jumps from 150bhp to just under 220bhp. The difference is staggering and for me, the insurance on the car with the remap declared was less than a standard VRS would have been. 40-42 MPG is achievable with careful driving. 17 MPG is also possible on the same trip though ![]() Last edited by Goochie; 15-08-2006 at 08:20. |
