Default 18" tyre help

I recently bought a set of 18" OZ alloys complete with tyres. Had them refurbished and they now look mint - in only cost £100.00 plus my old set of vRS alloys. The tyres on them were a mixture of Michelin, Ventus and Nankang - 225/40/18.

I will be looking to replace them shortly and was wondering what is the biggest tyre I can fit. Does anyone know whether I can fit a 255/35/18 or a 245/35/18 without it catching the inner arches?

Looking possibly at Toyo, Dunlop or Falken.

Cheers,

Darren

The front just about takes the 225's, what width are the wheels and does the car still have the standard suspension.

I'm guessing they are 7.5 x 18 or 8 x 18. Suspension is standard at the moment but i do want to lower the car.

The widest tyre you could fit is 235..this was for a 35/19 tyre... but you may get some rub on the rear.

Personally I wouldn't go wider than 225 .....I got rub on inner front arch liner at full lock when car was lowered by around 40mm.

That's around 1 fingers depth....at 2 fingers depth no rub at all.

I'm running 225/40/18.
