| First of all I don't want make this a use the search thread but it seems to have been a while since we had views on the current best tyres to opt for, mostly in the 225/45/17 form. So the time has come to change the tyres so might opt for all four and go down the 225/45 route. It seems that the two big players are GS-D3 F1's or P Zero ( Rosso? ) but there seems to be a 50/50 balance. So updated views now people have used a few more mm and tyres would be great for all in the tyre buying view. |

| Currently have some Toyo Proxes T-1R on my Octy at the moment - they are a massive step up from the Dunlop SP Sport 3000s the car came with.

| Running Michelin pilot sport ...quiet and so far pretty good in the wet...no sharp turn in on corners but so far reasonably happy with them |

| Hate to say it but maybe worth a look at buying from Kwik Fit? ![]() Actually mytyres for 4 are £387, then I could take them to the local family business at around £5 a corner and get laser aligment don too for under £425. Last edited by Ch!lledBudwei2e; 06-10-2006 at 21:15. |

| Just had a set of 225/45/17 Vredestein Ultrac's fitted to my Octy. Simply stunning wet grip, seriously amazing! Last two sets I had Toyo's but would never go back having felt how these things stick to the road. |

Can only second what he said- the T1-R and T1-S are awesome tyres esp for the price. If you're more a trackday/dry weather racer, then camskil have some decent deals on toyo R888's- semi slick road legal gripmonsters ![]() | |

| Pilot exalto are nice and quiet and a good compromise. The pilot sports are supposed to be very very nice though ![]()

| In order, I'd have, P Zero Nero, Exalto PE2, F1 GSD3. I don't like Toyos when the weather gets cold.

| Always used Toyos although they dont last that long, must be the way I drive or is it the 350 bhp they are trying to control. Seriously they do seem one heck of a lot of tyre for the money & Ive only ever really found there limitations on the track after a few laps on both the Octy & the Scoob. As a good fast road tyre without paying tooooo much they are IMO ideal

| Check out the classified section, I have a full set of 5 225/45/17 Goodyear F1 GSD3's for sale, 2 brand new never fitted ( and as a bonus they are XL Rated) and 3 PW in virtually new condition, all 7mm or more tread!! These tyres are absolutely awesome, I have had 3 sets of these on my previous car over 60K and I just cannot fault them at all, only selling them as I was going to fit them to my new car but I have swapped wheels with Damo for those stunning black 18" TT quattro wheels. I am after around £250-300 for the 5 thats £60 or less a corner!!

| Another vote for Toyo Proxes. Better grip and way less road roar than the Dunlop and Michelin mixture the car was on when I bought it. |
