accelerating

1.6 octavia accelerating
hi all, my octavia while driving accererates without pressing the accelerator and when it hits max revs faults out. even in neutral it will accerate and fault out, any ideas. 2000 model

Do not know the answer, but it would help if you knew if it was drive-by-wire or not? What model year is it?
