Default Advice

Hi Guys,
the sorry time has come that I need to trade in my Octavia VRS. The problem is that I cannot afford to be putting petrol in it all the time. I love it to bits it is killing me on the go juice. £60 last week for 2 trips to Leeds 1 to Tadcaster and just back and forth to work, all sensible 70mph on the cruise control.
The advice I need is what to change it to. Obviously it has to be diesel, I need to get 3 baby seats in the back, and enough boot space for a family of 5.
If I could find a straight swap for another Octy I would be over the moon but know that this is really unrealistic.
I am seriously thinking about a Mondeo 2.0 TDCI 130 BHP as they are cheap plentiful and at the end of the day it is big enough and a workhorse.
Other things are a Bora, Toledo or Vectra.

Conditions are Cheap, Diesel, Not French and not a MPV.

Lee

Hi Lee
I think you have answered your own question (sort of) If you are happy with the Octy then either a diesel Vrs or a standard 1.9Tdi Octy.

My son has a 110bhp version and gets around 60mpg on a run and we have a Fabia 1.4Tdi and we can get around 70mpg, ok the Fabia is poss a bit small but hey !!!

Octy TDi with 110 engine or better. Or the Mundaneo (better rear legroom, but less boot space).

i know this might sound daft but drive it faster.
I found mine far more economical at an indicated 80 rather than at 70
