| Today i have had my 55 plate vrs for 4 days - love it just love it. However - left middle airvent - one of paddles / fins wont move when others do. Sringy sound rattle from airvent when passing over road dips and bumps. + Interior light ceiling mounted button - when i tried to switch it to on there was a spring sound and the slider button fell out. Whats goin on? - thought these were VW tried and tested (never fail) vents / buttons / switches etc. Are these items covered on warranty and if so ( i live in stockport) where is the most convenient garage to take it?? ![]() I am in the process of fitting a handsfree kit to the car and I thought it would be good if i could stash the microphone behind the little grill in the light switch. So I prised it off the ceiling and in doing so I managed to lose the spring that holds the switch. After effing for about an hour I managed to resolve the problem by locking it into place with one of those wire connectors (see http://www.maplin.co.uk/images/Full/YP97F.jpg - 3rd row from top, on the right). Works a treat | |

| VW tried and tested means it isn't always tested ![]() That said, stuff like that is definitely and without any doubt a warranty issue, sounds like the pre-delivery checks have been skipped/rushed a tad ![]() I'd have a good check over of the car yourself, test whatever you can by using the normal controls etc, and then go make an appointment with the dealer. Although I've had a mixed dealer experience (post-sales), with stuff like that they ought to be quite helpful, especially as they will be hoping you service your car with them ![]() With some luck they should be able to sort you out pretty quickly ![]() |
