Default Anyone still on type G coil packs??

Having had a coil pack fail on my Octy Vrs recently I was surprised to discover that it still had type G coilpacks fitted. I was not surprised that one had failed but was expecting to find type H or J rather than G. The dealer has promised to replace them all foc at the next service but is it unusual to still be finding type G packs?

Probably not. I doubt that all affected cars have had theirs changed - as yours proves.

Would it not be possible to get them changed sooner as it really is a failure/breakdown waiting to happen.

Sods law it'll happen at a most inconvenient time too.

Perhaps a good time to reiterate a tip which is to carry a spare coil pack just in case.
