Default CAI or not

Finally just had the car remapped which I'm loving

But when getting done the guy was "Get that **** pipe took off" - my cold air induction kit.

What he was saying was dump it and buy a green panel filter or something as I'll be loosing a few bhps due to it..

So my question is should I take note of him or just leave my CAI fitted ?

Whats peoples thoughts ? ? ?

So bit of a mixed bag then.

Think it might stay just for the noise (oh and the greater power gains later on in life haha)

Many of the big tuners will tell you the same, but I keep mine just for the noise

I had a CAI on my Octavia and imho, the only benefits to be had were the noise and when I got up around the 5000 rpm mark. Down at max torque, the car felt slower than standard setup. I took the advice of the guys here, smoothed the air box and put in a decent panel filter. Improvements can be felt throughout the rev range
