Lightbulb Estate Roof Bar Removal

Has anyone ever done this?
If so, how do you seal the holes that it looks like will be left in the trim strips?

The bolt holes are plugged with little rubber grommets and you will need to replace the trims with complete ones rather than the sectioned ones that cars with roof rails have, about £40 ish each.

Cheers for that. There was nothing on here, other than a similar, unanswered, query about 2 years back!

I agree. An estate car certainly looks less appealing without them. When I had my Fabia estate I had the roof rails put on later and they certainly enhance the look of teh car imo.

I presume all Octy estates come with the roof rails as standard now then?

I'm not keen on the look, and with a standard ride height they make washing and waxing the roof awkward for me, at 5' 9.5".

If I do go with doing it, I'll keep all the bits that come off, and pass them on when I sell the car.

Don't get me wrong, what I meant was, just like the Fabia, makes you wonder why they don't give you the option.
