| Ok Folks help appreciated. Mot failed for emmisions slightly too high. As I have a turbo back blue flame system with sports cat, was told this was the cause? It is a sports cat, I though it should still do the business of controling emisions. I also thought that maybe Lambda sensors could be a cause. These are still the original fitted. reviewed the Vagcom and got error code 463A which states Engine Control unit blocked. I have a ECU remap but thought that the ECU could still be read and interogated. Also had errors 412C - Missfire detected 412D - Cylinder 1 missfire Anyone had these errors and can advise what they did to fix them. Plugs / Coils I am thinking. Plugs are not that old and coils are the Hitachi bolt down so would of thought they were ok. Maybe I need to re gap the plugs for a remapped car. Appreciate any help.

| My old vRS with a sports cat barely passed the MOT on emissions, and even then the engine needed to be nice and hot from a spirited drive. Best thing would have been to take it for a short spirited drive, and test it again and it will proberbly pass, mine did.

| If you have a misfire it will put unburnt fuel down the exhaust and certainly won't help emissions. Yes you should be able to communicate fully with the ecu even with remap.

| The thing is those errors could have been from an earlier problem and no longer current. If you clear them and they come back then it maybe a problem.

| You can log misfires in vag-com block 015, 0= ok , 1=misfire. If your a registered user. Think this is right, I'm sure Mr Ethos will correct me if I'm wrong .

| My MOT was mighty close with the same system. I think the printout showed 0.20 max limit (don't know the units) and mine was 0.19 ![]() Not sure what my electronic boost controller was set at tho as this also adjusts ignition timing so tyring that in a few different possitions may help next time. Would blocking the air filter a bit make any difference causing the ECU to reduce fueling? A stab in the dark but thought i'd see what others thought. Let us know how you get on please and good luck - i'm dreading my next one.

| My blueflame fast idle co level was 0.16%, max allowed 0.20 so they certainly pass. My natural idle test was 0.29, max allowed 0.30 ![]()

| 200cel should sail through mate. 100 cel jobs are the ones to watch out for.

| Yeah mines 100 cell. A more aggresive map should make no difference to your idle reading.

| The tester should know this but make sure that the climatronic is turned off as this can cause it to fail. Also as mannyo said go and rag the nuts off it so thats its nice and hot and you should pass it |

| Mine went up to max allowed 0.20 and would of probably carried on if they did not stop it. The MOT station is only 5 min away from my house so I may try a longer drive around first. I did reset the vagcom and cleared the errors, will recheck tomorrow. Car did splutter a bit today so errors may well come come back again. Will check plugs and coils later. Could be linked to the high readings a stated.

| What version of Vag-com software/cable do you have. Blocked ECU usually means your using the freeware version. |

| How common is this problem? One EPA study found that 70 percent of the vehicles that failed an I/M 240 emissions test needed a new O2 sensor. |
