| I'm wondering if my noises are coming from my exhaust mounting brackets. My suspension does not squeak or clunk, but when I drive normally I get some squeaking noises (only heard with the window down though). The radiator seems fine, so I think it's a trip to the exhaust place this afternoon to get them to have a looksie underneath.

| Right I weas right the squeaking I was hearing (siounded like it was coming from the front suspension) was indeed the exhaust. The middle mounting bracket's weld had broken, according to my local exhaust chap he's seen this a few times on Audis and VWs. So he mad a new bracket out of the old one and a U-bolt, £10 later I now have no squeaking jobs a good 'un. So for all you other chaps out there thinking your bushes or ARB have gone, go and get your exhaust checked.

| Yup that's where mine sounded like it was coming from. Apparently it is a common problem.

| It is a common problem, also effects MK4 Golf, Audi A3's, Leons etc. Mounting can be repaired as descibed above, usually fixed with a new centre section though.

| The centre section is more than the £10 repair thats for sure, but usually its caused by corrosion so it may well bu you another few months before there are more problems. Sounds like a good excuse to get a nice stanless exhaust to me ![]()

| It's just the bracket, that was the problem. Mr Exhaust man said the rest looked fine.
