To have the service counter changed from variable servicing to fixed 10k servicing? I was quoted £48.00 today by Derek Slack Skoda in Middlesbrough which seems way OTT to me!

You can do it yourself with VAG-COM.

Edit - Just thinking I'm sure if you are on variable and you reset the service indicator via the dash button it puts you on Fixed anyway.

Thanks. I had a go and it didn't work but I was working from memory so I'll consult the manual and have another go tomorrow. I think the time has come to invest in Vag-com.

It will only work if the display is telling you it needs a service. Once it is, follow the manual for resetting and it will then be on fixed 10000 mile intervals.

Good point, I assumed that it was at a service interval.
