Car: Black Octavia (216BHP ish) | KW v1, v2 or v3????? Hi have done a search, to no avail
I am enquiring into some new suspension for my octy vRS.
I would like to lower the car however not too much.
havin seen pics of the RED DEVIL and finding that the KWv3 can go a bit higher and lower that in the pic, Id like to get them.
the KWv3 are mucho dinero and cant afford them so was wondering what the diff is betwwen the other two types?
all I really want is to be abe to adjust the hight a bit as i have no clue when it comes to the dampers.
what is the main differences between them and what do ppl think of them?
also who is running what?
these are just for normal road use.
cheers for the help.
billy

Car: Silver Octi Est (170BHP / 380Nm) | Re: KW v1, v2 or v3????? If all you want todo is adjust the height of your car then the KW Variant1's will be fine. Awesome GTI Store UK - KW Suspension Products
I've stuck a URL in to Awesome's website as there is a brief overview of each variant by clicking on them.
I can't really comment on the Coilovers as I don't have them on my car I only have the sports springs and dampers. i have been in an Octi 4x4 1.8t with Variant 1's and the ride was 100% better than my vrs at the time.

| Re: KW v1, v2 or v3????? I have run 2's & 3's on my Octy 4x4, The 3's were definately a lot better. Like most things its a case of you get what you pay for, If you only want to lower it & arent wiorried about handling improovements then 1's will be fine. One word of warning, the Octy has a very thin sump & many have damaged them so please be careful, too low could be costly, you can always get a sump guard fittted

As for the sump I know where you can get them from for about £140-£150 so with fitting and oil & filter change your looking about £250 all in!
****Just to add this is for the whole sump (Reinforced) *****

The V3's are much stiffer than standard and do not like rough, pot-holed roads and tracks. You may regret this idea. My V3's as standard were hard as nails to the point were I almost threw them in the bin, but a play with the damping rates and its a lot more civilised now, but still expect to feel most road lumps and bumps.
It really is a trade off for improved performance, and not for thos who travel on bad surfaces in my opinion.

It really is a trade off for improved performance, and not for thos who travel on bad surfaces in my opinion. | I found the V3's excelent on the 4x4 for fast road work & they kept it all on the road with 356 bhp but I would agree that thet are aimed very much at fast road applications & not semi off road. KW now have a UK office, suggest you call them for advice, I have found them very helpful KW Suspension for high class suspension from the leading experts. Note all versions are advertised as road suspension.
Re the differences
Not sure about 1's, 2's are good & are made for KW by Koni, 3's IMO are the mutts nuts, are made by KW & also have the advantage that when they are tired KW will refurb them for not a lot, a year ago it was £45 a leg
I would guess even the 1's will be better than stock suspension

looks good mate.
can you lift the car up any higher than that or is that as high as the v1's go?
have you ever had 18" rims on with the V1's? still what do you think of them in relation to the std suspention kit?
one last thing, how easy is it to rais n lowwer the ride hight?
cheers mate

Car: red Octavia (Apr stage 2 225BHP) | Re: KW v1, v2 or v3????? yeah the 18s with the kws were great fun, i drove that hard in those days, and i had no probs, there is abit of adjustment left on them but with the 18s on the setting i have now there will be a fair gap in the arches, if i remeber rite i wound the front up 4 turns and back up 3 to fit the 20s? lol
and as for the ease , the front are dead easy, the back is bit more tricky, if u got a flat smooth surface then u can do with a jack and a buddy to watch over u lol , unlike the dam stones i got to do it on lol

I can certainly testify that when he had 18s and V1's the car road fine and certainly didnt mess around on the corners, if these are in your budget then go for it, they are what i will be going for next
