Lambda Probes

My car was having a few problems with electrics and the engine management light has been on for quite a while, I took it to my local dealer and was told I needed 2 new lamda probes and an air cooling sensor (my fans were running continuously when the car was turned on even if it had been sitting overnight), plus a regulator for the passenger window. I was quoted £280 for the parts however I'm now being told whenever they ordered the parts they were told £103 for the lamda probes but it was actually £103 for each of them! Does this sound correct? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Artie

P.S My Car is a 2001 Octavia

Re: Lamda Probes

I'd check it out with another dealer if I were you mate.
Maybe it's right, maybe it's not. It pays to talk

Re: Lambda Probes

Which engine does your car have? Lambda probes can cost anywhere between around £85 and £179 depending on engine, with around £106 being the more common price. The £103 quoted should be right.

Re: Lambda Probes

Can I just add, that if you have climatronic an run it without econ on, or aircon and run it with the A/C on then both fans run from startup anyway.

Re: Lambda Probes

Cheers lads.

I ended up just going with it and all the works cost £536 (nearly **** myself in the garage).

And now just to follow on my heater in the car doesn't seem to fully heat up, it used to be that I would have been sweating had I had it on full blast for about 20mins, it didn't seem to get up to full heat this morning on my 30min drive in to work. Any ideas?
