| I know this ones been banded about before, but here goes anyway ... The original exhaust on my octy has some corrosion, so I'm faced with the choice to upgrade. So I'm wondering, if I replace it (cat back), with something like the Milltek one, 1. How much is the price difference between an OEM job and an aftermarket? 2. Is it going to be noisy - I'd rather it wasn't? 3. Is it worth doing - i.e. will it last longer than an OEM one? TIA |

| For starters the one you have at the car at the moment is a mild steel pipe with stainless steel end pipe. The milltec will be 304 st/steel all the way which should last the lifetime of the car .And noise wise i think it sounds like a V8 but when doing motorway miles its as quiet as the OEM exhaust.I paid £330 for mine from Jabba but you may find it cheaper elswhere don't know how much a OEM one is never wanted a standard one put back on hope this helps![]()

| IIRC OEM is more expensive than an aftermarket cat back. Cat back will not give you much in terms of power....perhaps in the region of upto 10bhp so you won't really "feel" anything....more than likely it will also sound a bit deeper. Real gain will come with a sports downpipe and/or sports cat.....this combo will generally give more torque than anything....and it can be felt....will deepen the sound a little bit more again.
