Default MK2 interior fit?

Really do prefer the mk2 interior to the mk1. Have searched but can't find out the answer, does the mk2 interior fit in the mk1? Has anyone done this?

The MkII is a much bigger car and therefore the interior would not fit as said before. You could always buy a MkII instead

Reccaro seats for the front and a retrim in leather of the rest of the car to match it?

What about a TT dash, that might fit with a bit of work.

Its not just about size. The Mk1 and Mk2 use a different way of mounting the seats. The MK1 like the Golf 4 (hence MK4 R32 seats fitting) dont have runners as such, they are built into the floorpan. The MK2 has regular flat runners that bolt to the floor. You could fit MK2 front seats into a MK1 but it would require some custom fabrication.

I'v got S3 seats in mine. Very comfy and i'v taken time to run in a new loom so they work as they should. Only problem i'v got is what to do about the heated saet switches as the Golf ones look wrong on the Skoda dash. I got mine for £500 from ebay and sold my vRS ones for £270 the following week.

Are they a straight swap or do you have to make adaptions to any fittings? Been quoted £800 to retrim the seats and door cards in full leather on mine so this seems like the more sensible option

Straight swap, no adaptions needed at all. I live in Milton Keynes so if you want to take a look and see how they feel, then your more than welcome. You will still need to get the door cards re-trimmed. But then maybe we could get a block booking with discount

a mate has the astra Gsi and i sat in that and they are much more supportive that the ones in the vRS.

to me the vRS is an ace car but the thing that lets it down is the cheep seats. not supportive enough for the performance of the car.

dont think im the only one neither?????
