| Hi everyone my gearbox just blew on my octy on saturday and im having a mk4 golf gearbox fitted on thursday i was just wondering what difference does it make in performance because of the ratios in the box? Will it perform any better? cheers |

| interesting... a friend drove my 110TDi the other day and she thought that 3rd gear was different in mine than her same aged 110TDi Golf mk4 I was going to make a post and ask if they were the same boxes, but never go around do it. Maybe just the difference between two high mileage cars (both over 120k each) |

| AIUI, if it's the same box code, the ratios etc are all the same. The Golf is about 100kg lighter though. |
