| I have only had the car 2 weeks and went to do a few checks before and when i removed the oil cap there was a mayonaise type substance in the oil chamber and on the cap. The car has done 65,000 miles and the last keeper has it as a second car and this was only used for short town trips. There also seems to be what i can describe as condensation in the oil chamber. The engine coolant is fine and isnt going down or losing water and dosent smell of oil. Here are the links to the pictures i have just taken... http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...yoinOilCap.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...oonOilCap2.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...yoonoilcap.jpg Is thi something i should worry about and will it get worse or better? I am worried sick as the car is booked into skoda to get a new sunroof seal fitted on tuesday as thats leaking ![]() Forgot to mention it is a 1.6 engine - Thanks. |

| I wouldn't worry about that amount. Clean it off, treat the car to some decent journeys where it gets warm, and check the cap from time to time. ![]()

| Nothing to worry about, see it many times on the 1.6 and 2.0 litre petrol engines. |

| You will always get a bit, the 1.6 and the 2.0 form a lot of condensation in the cam box area due to thier breathing system.
