Default Octavia Symphony NO-GO

Hi,

My Symphony radio on my Octavia (version with single CD) has gone sort of dead with me. Worked the day before and now I dont get any sound from the speakers. The radio will turno on, scan FM radios, everything, BUT NO SOUND!!!! Cant understand why. Suppose faulty/disconnected wire.
If anyone can ge me some info about this, or evene a diagram or how-to guide to take the radio out, Ill appreciate it!!!

Regards

Giulio

To remove the headunit, get an old credit card and cut 2 thin strips about 10mm wide and insert into the 2 vertical slots in the front of the headunit. The strips need to be about 50mm long to engage in the release catches.

Had the same experience with my unit last week, but I was getting a regular
popping sound from speakers whilst all functions on unit displayed as normal, even cd. After switching unit on/off several times it decided to work as though nothing ever happened. The only other thing I did was open/close drivers door couple of times but don,t know if this would have affected anything!

Remove the glovebox ( only 7 screws ) and then you can reach round and push the stereo out. Much easier that way

Finally got it out!!!! But still no audio. There is a single connector on one side (kind of like coaxial type, guess its antenna) and two connectors with multiple wires each, everything seems to be in place. Theres also a 10A fuse that looks OK.
Any other ideas?????

Can you hear any kind of popping sound or hiss from speakers with volume up? Another thing is try gentley wriggling the rubber boot that carries wiring thats visible with door open between door and frame.
