Default Octy WRC

*sigh*

<rant>

Just dropped SWMBO off in town so thought I'd take a little drive to the "local" Skoda dealer - I was sure I'd noticed a Octy WRC on their forecourt, but always thought about it just as I was flying past.

So tonight I pull up outside and check out the cars. And yes - they have a white (obviously) octy vrs - luuuuurvely shining paint job (no blemishes), nice clean alloys... and no bloody price on display. Same with half the other cars they had on front...

It's no wonder it's been there for a while - they're not exactly going out of their way to sell the blooming thing! (But it was pretty...!)

per'aps the salesman thats ragging the nuts off the thing forgot to put the price tag in the window again.

i remember going to look at a car once and there were crisp wrappers in the back foot wells... apparently the receptionist used it !

So is it a de-stickered WRC or just a plod-spec?

As far as I know, it's a destickered WRC... although how exactly you tell the difference is beyond me

It had a vRS badge on the back, white alloys, white body, small boot spoiler...

£15,999? I don't think so....

Ah, I've test driven that one

It's a nice car but I wouldn't (and didn't) pay the £16k asking price for it! It's done a few miles (10k i think) and there are some dings in the front screen too.

[edit]
It's cleaner than when I drove it too.

15k, unless it's never moved (although possibly worse) na. As I say 12+ for these from a forecourt would be stiff....

If you want one though, really want one....argh the pain in twisting me arm.

I'll even wash it

However there are only 25 RHD like these in the world so perhaps I should not be so keen as to drive down the price on quite a rare and special vehicle. Frequently commented on for it's above average road holding on like for like runs, the parts list is identical, perhaps these have special magical powers that only the driver pouring over his dashboard limited edition plaque can unleash

Xenons ESP reverse sensors and heated seats seem to be extras over standard.Think that might be on the forecourt for a long long time!

Does look very nice (I had to tear myself away last night)... think I'll send a cheeky email asking if they'd drop the price much

I live in Wickford - East of Billericay, South of Chelmsford and North of Basildon

Haven't actually managed to by myself a vRS yet but am hoping to rectify that at the weekend. Going to talk to a dealer in Sussex about prices... Fingers crossed!

Wouldn't hold your breath on a price reduction, Mr Porter of TA Porter wanted to sell me a new vRS at a grand over list price

And the pleasure of knowing that there are only 99 others in the world.
And only 37 others in RHD
And only 22 others in the UK (that we know of)

Something's not quite right with this one though... It has the right options, but also has something wrong (and I'm surprised that Colin hasn't noticed!)

Bump strips.

To be honest I've given up trying to work out what's on them, not on them, is stickered is painted is falling off...erm no that's my fault.

It needs the bump strips destickered I think, although I'm not sure now...will find a pic of mine.

I think reversing sensors are a retro again...mind has them, but a retro, unless I've been told wrong...

Stickered = no bump strips

De-stickered = Who knows? Personal choice? Sensible investment?

Reversing sensors = Retro - but damn fine idea

thats the car i test drove nearly 18months ago when i got mine,it was the demonstrator.
if i remember correctly they are looking for over £18K,its got 12K-13K miles on it.
it doesn't get used just sits outside which is a shame.
i've posted many times mentioning it.

who wants to buy my Octy vRS then????????????

Not forgetting 4WD, 300+BHP, Several Sets of Tyres, Recaro Protection...it's a long way off. In fact it's miles off, not sure where it got the wrc name tag from. It was a motorsport celebration vehicle, 100 years in motorsport, just happened to be that the Octy was in the WRC aswell.

So your not wrong, it does need a spoiler, but needs IMHO to have the guts ripped out 4WD and 300 BHP then I'll think of it as a WRC version

Not that I've thought about any of the above atall...*maybe in 3 years*
