| Getting a noise from the front offside of the car. Below 40 there really aint alot of noise in a straight line but if you go left hand down there is one hell of a whirring noise but right hand down its ot that bad, almost not there. After 40mph it starts and gets louder the faster you go in a straight line to the point you wanna cut your own ears off at 70 Any ideas before i do something tragic to my ears LOL Cheers Guys and Gals

| Thats three for a wheel bearing. Any funny clicking/cracking noises when reversing on full lock? thats a CV joint on the way out if there is. Worth checking as well.

| I agree, wheel bearing as well. Mine is doing the same but is booked in on tuesday to get it sorted! I didn't get the bearing from Skoda though as it was £86.40 opposed to £35 from somewhere else (can't remember!) If you need it i'll get the name and part number for you.

| I dont think its the C.V cos its not doing it at slow speeds and full lock is fine. Mainly high speed straights and moving right handers, yeh me thinks your all right and its the bearing. Got it booked in under the warrenty as the car was only collected 3 days ago Cheers

| Wheel bearing get's my vote too (sorry slow follow-up ) - had a very similar noise on my Fabia and it got worse. Was recommended to get it sorted asap, had to drive it for > 1000 miiles like it in the end due to availability of my time & dealership time. The noise at speed was quite incredible as you've already mentioned. You'll be glad when it's sorted |

| Be careful about driving with a wheel bearing that is on it's way out. I would have thought that if it siezes the wheel would get ripped off it traveling at speed.
