| '02 Octy vRS hatchback (standard). When driving over cobbled streets or speed bumps, and sometimes on start up, im getting a short metalic rattle from the underside of my car. Sounds to me like an exhaust bracket or something towards the back of the engine bay/middle of the car. It's been there a while, but ive recently had mot and cam belt done and assumed if there was something serious loose someone would have picked up on it. But nobody has mentioned anything. Anyone know what it could be before i start the great hunt for the beast known only as 'rattle'? |

| Another yaah middle exhaust section bracket, ive had it on mine, can bee welded back on or secured with jubilee clips as a semi/permanent repair or till you get your nice shiney stainless exhaust

| Must agree with the above. I chose the jubilee method, as I couldn’t be bothered to take the zorst off to weld it. |

| Just thought I'd update this old post! I finally got the centre bracket welded back on last weekend. I popped into Janspeed in Salisbury on Saturday morning and they very kindly welded it back on for me. They made it look very easy. Was also nice to get my car on some proper ramps and have a good look at her belly! No more rattle for me! Hopefully I wont get those embarrasing looks on cobbled streets now.... With any luck by the time the weld breaks again, Janspeed will be making a nice shiny system for the vRS. |
