| been doing a lot of searching around the forum but can't find anyone with exactly the same fault. Unlocking drivers door or boot with key unlocks all doors as normal central locking would. However the remote (flip key, 2001Y elegance) does not unlock or lock. The LED on the fob flashes every second or so, there's a clicking of ?transistors/switches from the steering column area but nothing happens otherwise. Tried re-programming the keys using the instructions in the manual as well as another method found on the forum. No sucess All windows work as they should, all interior lights work as normal. Any ideas? Presuming the batteries are ok as the LED flashes on both keys cheers andrew |

| I would try the battery first. I had a similar problem with mine, although it did unlock the car I had to be standing less than a metre away. Key fob flashed when buttons where pressed but signal must have been weak due to a low battery, when I changed it it was ok.

| fairly sure it's not the battery as when i press the button the car detects it because of the clicking by the steering column. will give it a go though |
