| Hi guys, At the moment I've got the 16" vRS wheels, now at some point i'd love to upgrade these to 17 or 18" alloys. Now, what would these be like? 17" RS4 Audi/VW Style Alloy Wheels with Tyres 4/5 Stud on eBay, also, Wheels with Tyres, Car Wheels, Tyres Trims, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 19-Apr-08 17:30:00 BST) 18" New RS4 Audi/VW Style Alloy Wheels with Tyres (332) on eBay, also, Wheels with Tyres, Car Wheels, Tyres Trims, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 19-Apr-08 22:00:00 BST) I'm guessing heavy and not great quality.... would people go for 17"s or 18" on the vRS?

| I have seen a guy on here who has them on a silver VRS and they look really good. If you look further on in this diccusion area there is a thread called "Wheels" and there are many diffrent options from different members. Last edited by Hulk1978; 21-04-2008 at 11:12. |

| i really like the S3 alloys a few members on here have. Thing i don't like about the previous RS4 alloys is near me every boy racer in a golf has them now so there not very individual any more. the new shape RS4 wheels however do look the dogs danglies.

| Thanks. Any comments on the extra weight from the reps + going bigger? 18" too big?

| I really like the vRS alloys, but to get a good set with tyres in 17"s it seems they go for the same sort of price as a new set with new tyres... ![]()

| Shouldn't notice much with the weight tbh, handling will be slightly diff if you go for wider ones, acceleration/topspeed will be affected slightly if the rolling radius is changed. the ride quality will suffer a little from using lower profile tyres. but tbh not that much as the saloon vrs has 17's anyway. ive always noticed that it is usually cheaper to get aftermarket wheels than OEM.

| probably in a good way as more grip from larger tyre but when it starts to slip it may slip quicker, your turning circle may increase, nothing drastic though. depends on the width of tyre you go for as this will make a big difference.

| I have a set of replica new style RS4's in 17" and they were properly cheap (I actually paid £25 the set brand new, but thats another ebay story pmsl) they have been fine functionally, we have used them on a Vento race car for a couple of meetings too with no problem. However they are heavy (we are used to the weight of Oz Superleggera for example, and the rep's are probably getting on for twice the weight) and I suspect if you hit them hard then they are likely to break easier too. One other thing, the tyres you will get with a £500 set of wheels will be crap at best,,, |

| There are some VRS alloys on E-bay at the moment. I have seen them from £150-£300 and you can get a set of Falkens from mytyres for £280 Your looking around £500-£600 for secondhand alloys with a new set of good rubber! (Go for 225x45x17)

| These have been on there for ages but they look aweful; octavia vrs alloys, Car Tuning Styling, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles items at low prices on eBay.co.uk Also the set for £500 use ZR Enduro 912, I thought these were ok? Still not sure if 17 or 18"s will be better, don't want to have to lower the car after to make it look right either!! ![]()

| I've got 18" old style RS4 replica alloys fitted & they are okay. Personally I would go for the 18" size alloys as the size of the car suits them |

Surely all these replica alloys are made by one massive company that probably already owns OZ or MOMO etc etc. Yes the quality will be not as good but i'v always said pound for pound these replica wheels are a very good buy. Darren

| Still really tempted by these; 18" New RS4 Audi/VW Style Alloy Wheels with Tyres (332) on eBay, also, Wheels with Tyres, Car Wheels, Tyres Trims, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 25-Apr-08 22:00:00 BST) Are those tyres anygood? My front tyres are nearly shot I think but the rears have loads left. I'm right in thinking that the little marker in the tread is the legal limit yes? I'm a bit above that and have 700 miles to do in the next 4 days! Hope they last!!!!!! Thinking about selling my alloys and paying some on top to get a new set with tyres... instead of forking out £150 for just two new tyres. If I get the 18s will I need to get the car lowered?

| Teres a company that does those alloys for £399 plus £25 postage. You get the badges locking wheel nuts and all the wheels ballanced etc. Darren

Also, I really beleive that you get what you pay for with alloys, you can see teh differnce in quality usually just from looking at them, definately by feeling them! Another thing that would put me off buying cheap rims again is the strength. When I was younger I had a set of Speedline Allessio 2's on a Corsa, I lost the front end in snow once and ploughed through a kurb side on. The only dmage was a slight scuff to the lip of the rim, balanced up and completely straight still. On my next Corsa I had Masitaly VT5's, they were basically Khan RSR copies in the correst offset. I managed to hit a kerb again with these in a similar fashion and snapped the bottom of the wheel off. And when you try to source one wheel on it's own the price shoots up a bit. In this instance I would try to source a set of OEM spec wheels if they are the wheels you want, or buy some aftermarket ones from a decent manufacturer.

| Runway tyres...runaway? Dont skimp on these. Also, they are likely as mentioned to be poor quality and possibly heavy.
