Default service display.

hi peeps, i own a mrk 1 octy vrs, shes done 44,000 miles, the last service was done at 40,000, and before that 30,000. now every time i start the engine, the words service keep flashing for about 10 secconds then dissapears? just wondered if anyone knows why this is as its not due a service for another 6,000 miles. thanks.

Sounds like whoever did your last service didn't reset the service light. Have a look at:

Bear in mind that this will move your car onto a fixed servicing schedule (the light will appear every 10k, if it doesn't already). Should suit, though.

From your description, I'm guessing you're on fixed, so all you have to do is remember when the service indicator was reset.
