shell opti-max fuel ??...

hi there owner of a 2002 skoda vrs been running it on normal unleaded, howveer filled it up wit shell opti-max fuel and now the car has gone all lumpy on start up, and hunting when it is idle, it is showing up epc light and another warning light on the dash which is to do with the ABS and the traction control.. any ideas if it is the fuel ? or what else is could be ? having it scanned at skoda tomorrow... p.s hi to ewveryone ne to the site ! love sadie x.x.x

Welcome to Briskoda and you will see that i have moved your thread here. I would guess that the problems you are having are pure coincidence and wonder if a scan will reveal a coil pack failure - a not uncommon fault.

Hi yes new to the site so still getting used to it ! Did wonder about the coil packs lucky i have a spare set of coils here brought them for my other vrs which i wrote off in july !! have owned one before but never had this prob ?? will see what skoda reveal tomoz hopefully nothing major we will see ! i love these cars x

Its probably pure coincidence... I had it with my old Fiesta ST after I filled up with BP Ultimate for the first time and had the engine stuttering and the warning lights come on... I won't depress you with the story but needless to say I gave it back to the dealer and got my money back.

Fingers crosses nothing too bad spent loads on my other one before i wrote it off !! i love my car makes me laugh the people who look when i driving it cos im a girl !! Got to leave it with skoda tomoz (oh no i will have to use my legs as tarnsport) as they are jamm packed but will manage to squeeze it in - as they do when your paying for it lol xx

Where are you based as its quite likely someone with VAG-COM on here could save you the charge.
