| My Octavia is in with my local dealer. Mis-firing, Check engine light on. They called me Today to tell me they will need it for a few more days...... The engine has very low compression and they need to remove the Head to investigate. Car is an 03 Vrs with 26k. Bog standard. Any ideas? thanks |

| Oh dear, normally the misfire is caused by nothing more than a failed coilpack but this sounds worse. At least you are still under warranty.

| Luck or not lucky in this case of the draw. I had a xantia, legendary engies those 1.9diesels...head gasket + worse at 39k. Glad it's sorted though, any explanation? Would not want the same component (possibly) causing this one to fail roughly outside warranty ![]()

| "Somthing" got in the Engine, is all they could come up with?? There was a hole in one of the valves, but each cylinder had damage. The original Turbo was fine, but they replaced it as a precaution. Photos of the Engine can be found at the following link. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/showthread.php?t=31761 |
