Default Sick VRS

My Octavia is in with my local dealer. Mis-firing, Check engine light on.
They called me Today to tell me they will need it for a few more days......
The engine has very low compression and they need to remove the Head to investigate.

Car is an 03 Vrs with 26k. Bog standard.

Any ideas?
thanks

Oh dear, normally the misfire is caused by nothing more than a failed coilpack but this sounds worse. At least you are still under warranty.

Yes when i dropped the car off, they suggested the coilpack. But as you say it seems worse.....Thank the Lord I still have the warranty! (Nearly had it remapped a few months back, glad i held off!)

Default Update!

Got my Octavia back from "jewsons Skoda". They have been really helpful. My engine was cream crackered with only 26k on the clock. I now have a new engine & Turbo, all done on the warranty Feels like a new car....

Luck or not lucky in this case of the draw.

I had a xantia, legendary engies those 1.9diesels...head gasket + worse at 39k.

Glad it's sorted though, any explanation?

Would not want the same component (possibly) causing this one to fail roughly outside warranty

"Somthing" got in the Engine, is all they could come up with?? There was a hole in one of the valves, but each cylinder had damage. The original Turbo was fine, but they replaced it as a precaution.

Photos of the Engine can be found at the following link.
