| I've noticed a couple of times that if I hoof my car I'm getting a slight wobble in the steering under heavy acceleration - nothing noticeable the rest of the time Also the car feels a little "looser" as if something has more play than it should have. I don't think its bad - yet - but any ideas where to start looking? |

| First step would be to get your wheel alignment checked/adjusted.

| Wouldn't something need to have play in it in order for something to wobble because of the tracking? I was going to get it done anyway as I go over speed humps a fair bit. |

| Sounds like tracking to me - most places do a free check. |

| Tracking done and adjusted - slightly better but still got a loose feeling under heavy acceleration. Any more ideas? Also it still likes to follow grooves etc in the road - more than it used to. I'm sure somethings knackered just trying to narrow down what to look at |

| Hi there, I cant offer any help but mine does this too! I have an octy Vrs (05). My steering wobbles between 50 and 70 mainly and I get a kind of loose feeling when using my right foot to full effect. Also as I come off the gas and slow down I here a kind of wiring noised a bit like tyre noise. Very un-nearving, doesnt exactly inspire confidence. ![]() I have recently had my wheel bearing done at a main stealer and had origional springs fitted as modified items were fitted when I bought the car + full cambelt service. Im wondering if the bearing is a faulty item or if it wasnt put back together properly. My first step is going to be getting my wheels ballenced, then I will take it back to Skoda to check there work. Im running Bridgestone tyres, which could be making the slowing down noise. ![]() |

| I jacked it up but couldn't find anything loose or wobbly or knocking, so I think I give up and will take it to the garage. There are no odd noises, it just feels like its castering as in a shopping trolley ie somethings loose |

| Just a quick thought - but could this simply be torque steer?

| Seems odd though how it only surfaces under extreme load. All the tyres are fine I take it, and there is no faults with the suspension? A front suspension issue could the cause....

| Been on the ramp today at the garage but they can't see anything so I guess I'll just wait till something busts |
